And how to determine acceptable colour deviations for specific Brand colours
by Eddy Hagen owner of Insights4print When designing a brand logo, you want it to reflect the brand, its values. And you want it to reflect these values every time the brand logo is reproduced. So you think about form and colour. And maybe, at the end, about printing that logo. Which is not ideal: you should think print from the start! I’ll explain why and how.
Brand colours and printing in CMYK: better safe than sorry - part 2
by Eddy Hagen owner of Insights4print
Your logo, your brand colours are important to you, especially when
you’re a designer or a marketer. You care about how it is being
reproduced, whether it is on a website, on a printed piece of paper, or
any other kind of reproduction.
With a colour printer close to every desktop, the question arises: “Why should we spend all that money on preprinted letterheads if we can print the logo together with the rest of the letter?” Although this looks a valid proposition, not all logos are created equal and with some ‘unique’ colours it will be very hard to get a consistent and correct reproduction of that unique colour.
